CHALE MIZIK RECEIVES HONORS AT BROOKLYN ACADEMY OF MUSIC
Top Entertainers In Music and Film Are Honored At the Academy Awards Ceremony
Brooklyn, New York--Chale Mizik was recently honored with the Best New Album Award and Best Singer/Performer Award at the 12th Edition of the 5 Continents Annual Academy Awards Ceremony which took place on Sunday, June 28th at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM). Chale Mizik received the award for their debut album, La Chatte de Mme Bruno, and their lead singer, Bono.
Before accepting the award, Chale Mizik gave a thrilling 8 minute performance which included a tribute to the late legendary singer/performer, Michael Jackson, who recently passed away. Backed up by his full band, Bono sang Jackson hit song, "BillyJean," while dancing and moonwalking across the stage. The band then made a smooth transition into their song titled "Men Georges." Dancers came onto the stage adding color and spice to the performance and members of the crowd joined the band on stage to dance as well.
Following the performance, Bono accepted the awards for himself and on behalf of his band..
"I would like to thank the fans, academy staff, and my management team for making this possible for Chale Mizik," stated Bono. "Our goal is to reach beyond expectations. We know that we are far from the top but we are sure that we will get there as long as we are persistent."
This is just the beginning for Chale Mizik who has consistently made good impressions on folks who have had a chance towitness the band perform LIVE. Past performances in popular venues such as SOBs and Brasserie Creole received rave reviews from critics and fans who were present. Their award-winning debut album, La Chatte de Mme Bruno, is available for purchase at traditional music retailers.
